Days start early in Myanmar and on this one I was heading south, to the fabled Golden Rock, a gilded boulder perched precariously on the edge of a mountain top.
Shortly after starting, the driver pulled over the bus to purchase packets of betel nut, a mild, addictive stimulant chewed throughout south Asia.
Call it a pastime, call it an addiction, call it a dentist’s nightmare or even fantasy, everyone in Myanmar seems to be chewing it, even at 6:30 in the morning.
Check out a few photos from the bus stop and stay tuned for photos from Myanmar’s Golden Rock.
